This might interest some. We have new baclony doors! wood on aluminum frame, with a window, supposedly U-value 1.0 W/(m2.K). (Probably this one: Classic Castilla | Swedoor - sorry can't find a site in English)
Triple-glazed. The triple glazing works fantastic, and the solid parts seem to also keep out the cold.
But - see photo - that join where the glass pane meets the wood - ouch! 12 or 13 degrees when its 4 or 5 outdoors and 20-21 indoors.
Interestingly our 40 year old original windows have identical temperatures at this junction.
I wonder if any door manufacturers have cracked this issue.
